AFD firefighters Gordon O'Brien, left, and Dave Spring make friends with a dog that the pair rescued from a locked automobile on Park Street. A concerned passer-by called when he noticed the dog locked in a car with all its windows rolled up. O'Brien and Spring made short work of the problem and got their new friend some water to drink from Ole's Waffle Shop. The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals reminds pet owners that it is never safe to leave an animal locked in a car without any ventilation, no matter the outside temperature.
