The Golden Gate Boys Choir (GGBC) and Bellringers is an independent organization committed to the tradition of boy choir training. We offer extensive instruction in musical skills and choral performance for boys and young men in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The choir develops repertoire, vocal skills, and knowledge of music theory. These skills are proudly showcased in performances at local, national, and international levels. The boys choir experience can make a tremendous impact in the education of boys and young men. They gain self-esteem and self-assurance. They learn to set priorities, make responsible decisions, relate to their peers and present themselves in public with grace and dignity. Successful members graduate with skills that are not only musical, but with a deeper understanding of themselves and their ability to be leaders in their community. This, finally, is the ultimate goal of the GGBC. As one parent correctly observed, there is so much more to the GGBC than just singing. The GGBC will be traveling to Italy at the end of this year and, during the summer, will host its annual Summer Music Camp in Lafayette. Find out more about handbells below. GGBC's Tuesday rehearsals in Alameda are at St. Philip Neri Church, 3108 Van Buren St. (near High Street). |
