The Alameda congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently donated more than 400 jars and cans of peaches, peanut butter and beef stew — approximately $1,000 worth of food — to the Alameda Food Bank. Lay Bishop Chuck Harlow explained why the donation was made.

The Alameda Pediatric Dental team has returned from its trip to Whitehouse, Jamaica. Team members report that they treated as many as 90 children per day. The trip was part of Great Shape! Inc.'s 1,000 Smiles Project.
