OSHA Training Classes Set

Chabot-Las Positas Community College District's OSHA Training Center will provide the following classes this month.

OTC 10C Cal/OSHA 10-Hour Hazard Awareness for Construction; Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19: This course provides 10 hours of Cal/OSHA hazard-awareness training for the construction industry. Upon successful completion of the course, a 10-hour card will be provided.

OSHA 510 - OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry; Tuesday, March 23 to Friday, March 26: This course for private-sector personnel covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA construction standards. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are the most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide.

OSHA 7600 Disaster Site Worker; Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25: This course is for disaster-site workers who provide skilled support services (e.g., utility, demolition, debris removal or heavy equipment operation) or site clean-up services in response to a disaster. The goal of this course is to increase the participant's awareness of the safety and health hazards including CBRNE agents that may be encountered at a natural or man-made disaster site. Participants will be able to perform the following: inspection of an air-purifying respirator, donning and doffing an air-purifying respirator, and respirator seal check; prerequisites: see www.osha4you.com.
