Victor Feliz from the pueblo Lopez Mateo holds the Sun at the nearby fishing camp of San Lazaro on the Baja coast of Mexico. With Victor are Alameda sailors Larry and Muggs Zabel, Joel Tuttle and Harry Reppert who were among 190 crews bringing aid to help rebuild Victor's village after Hurricane Rick struck it in October. School supplies, clothing, household items and over $10 thousand in cash were provided by the "Baja Ha-Ha" fleet during its annual regatta sponsored by Latitude 38 sailing magazine. Crewmember Reppert holds the Alameda Epicure Cookbook of local recipes that he used to provision the trip.

"The Sun Shines Everywhere" attempts to show the Alameda Sun in every state of the Union and every country in the world. Submit a small descriptive paragraph along with your photo to the Alameda Sun, 3215-J Encinal Ave., Alameda, CA 94501. Submissions may also be e-mailed to
