Greg Falkner and Nurse Janet Roach took part in the Elks' recent successful blood drive.

Alameda Elks Lodge No. 1015 partnered with the Blood Centers of the Pacific in a successful blood drive on Sunday, Jan. 10.  The donation goal was 35 pints, but 57 donors were scheduled.

Those who gave blood received a free breakfast, free tickets to a raffle that featured a 32" flat-panel TV, and a free gift certificate from Hornblower Dinner Cruises

The facility breakfast crew paid for the donor breakfasts through personal donations to the committee. The 2010 senior class from the Alameda Community Learning Center bussed the tables and earned tips. The students will use the tip money for their graduation ceremony and celebration.
