Law Offices of Marc Voisenat Blue Angles 24; Hungtington Learning Center Fire and Ice 15: Both teams displayed fantastic defense, with a total of 15 rebounds, seven steals and a pair of assists by the Fire and Ice players... Third- and Fourth-Grade Girls Law Offices of Marc Voisenat Blue Angles 24; Hungtington Learning Center Fire and Ice 15: Both teams displayed fantastic defense, with a total of 15 rebounds, seven steals and a pair of assists by the Fire and Ice players. Taylor Williams scored 9, and Elizabeth Avery, Emma Onagas and Mira Piamonte each added 2. The clincher of the game was in the fourth quarter with three steals to score by the Blue Angels and 3 free-throw points s to determine the 9-point spread for the Blue Angels' win. Diamond Diesel Wildcats 20; Hawaiian Drive Inn Sapphires 18: It was a close, exciting game Jan. 30 as the Hawaiian Drive Inn Sapphires battled the Wildcats. Lauren Lum, Madison Croxton, Mia Karlsrud and Jayda Aviles handled the scoring, while Valerie Zavala-Sheridan and Rowan Esquer made great assists and played heavy defense. The Sapphires lost in a heartbreaker 20-18. Roberson Water Consulting Orange Crush 21 vs. McDonalds Central Green Dragons 13: The Roberson Water Consulting Orange Crush exhibited strong teamwork in their win over the Green Dragons. April McCarver led the offense with 8 points. Tatiana Cordova, Maggie Wu and Rachel Wellman also scored. Camille Minault contributed with an assist and several rebounds. Veronica Taylor, Emma Powell and Briyonna Taylor led the effective defense. In a fast-moving game, the Green Dragons held to a strong defense. Zoe Rickard assisted the lead scorers. Jeanine Rivera, Gabi Franco, Sydney Willams and Tabbi Compton worked to put the points on the board. Rebounds were had by all but the Dragons took the loss of 21-13. Fifth- and Sixth-Grade Girls McDonald's Central Ave. Blasters 31; Hawaiin Drive Inn Heat 15: The Blasters gave a total-team effort in their victory over the Heat. Nina Erquiaga, Olivia McKeon, Sara Cooper, Bella Sheel, and Rebecca Rochlin all scored, while Clare Rickard, Kaili Le, and Zoe Reidy played tough defense and effectively contained the Heat's potent scorers. The Blasters climbed out to an early double digit lead on Sunday. The heat narrowed the gap to 6 points in the second quarter, but the Blasters were too much for the Heat running away to a 31-15 victory. Danielle Simpson scored 14 points and Mia Love-Sangco had nine rebounds. Terry R. Pratt, D.D.S. TABU 31; Linda Avery, Ph.D. Blue Angels 19: The Linda Avery, PhD. Blue Angels fought hard against TABU. Despite a winning start, the Blue Angels fell behind in scoring. However, they showed great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the game. Samantha Williams tirelessly hustled up and down the court to score points while Christina Chu played great defense with some key steals. Allegrotiti Construction Bombers 18; Maria Croft Designs Golden Warriors 17: With games back to back vs. a tough Golden Warrior team, the Bombers forwards had to dig deep to reach an 18 to 17 victory. Rebecca Eggert, Hannah Gorham, Alanna Norman, and Julia Dietrich were key on defense. On offense, Jacqueline Smith, Lisa Bertholdt, and Lilly Ariunbold played patiently and lead the team to a victory that could've gone either way. Seventh- and Eighth-Grade Girls East Ocean Restaurant Junior High Flyers 24; Terry R. Pratt, D.D.S. Blue Beastsss 21: The shorthanded Beastsss had several players step up to make this a close game. Kennedy Hanson scored two points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Annika Mullings scored two points and harassed the Flyers on defense. Maria Mandanas scored four points, and Emily Beireis scored one. Morgan Hashimoto led the team with 12 points. Tucker's Super Creamed Ice Creams Black Magic 30; BayRisk 27: A BayRisk fourth quarter rally fell short when a buzzer ending 3-point shot missed target. The BayRisk team was lead by Maddie Lewis thirteen points, Crystal McKenna six points. Lauren Guerrero and Dominique Barrs supported the team with defense and rebounding. Third-Grade Boys Kane & Associates Sharp Shooters 35; Tomatina Furious Nine 9: Kane and Associates Sharp Shooters beat the Furious nine 35 - 9. With great scoring efforts by Dallas Rider (17 points), Ronald Robertson (9 points), Wesley Grant (7 points) and Kanoa Gilliam (2 points), the Sharp Shooters were able to bring home their second victory in a row. Michael Proffitt, Leo Miranda, and LJ Rose provided great defense. McDonald's Shore Line Green Dragons 32; McGee's Red Raptors 29: The McDonald's Shore Line Green Dragons defeated the Red Raptors 32-29 in an exciting overtime game. Wrenn Robinson had 18 points, and Padraig Lane had 8 points, and Tilman Vetter added 5. Sean Gorham played outstanding defense including creating a game- winning turnover in OT. Danny Keep hit a key free throw in the victory. Drs. Johnson and Jolly Orthodontics Lightening 35; Tigers 20: Drs. Johnson and Jolly Orthodontics Lightning (6-0) victory over the Tigers was led by Sterling Stokes double/double (14 points, 13 rebounds). Liam Neal's 6 points kept the Lightning in the game in the close first half while Mason Layag's five assists along with Ben Seelenbacher's 4 points put the game away in the second half. Nico Abe had another solid game on the boards with six rebounds and on defense with three steals and a block. Fourth-Grade Boys Waste Management Gunners 30; Killkenny Consulting Celtics 24: The Celtics showed incredible defense in thwarting the Gunners team. Jack McCormick had the speed to lead in steals and blocks while Ari Burrows displayed his rebounding skills to disrupt the opposition. Isaac Benson and Peter Murphy worked in tandem to make lethal 2-point shots. The Gunners win again behind the strong effort of Ethan Chang, who scored three points, 14 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Max Swinderman led the Gunners with 8 points and eight rebounds. Nathan Canalin, once again, played great defense and added five rebounds. BayRisk Blue Devils 19; Kevin R. Kearney CPA Bulls 18: After starting fast behind long range sharp shooting from Sam Wettergren and Kenan Hurem, the Bulls fell to the Blue Devils 19 - 18. Pesky defense and a bucket by Oscar Knox-White and strong rebounding from John Asubar and Ian Joyce kept the score close. Fifth-Grade Boys Pontar Realty Crush 39; CB Richard Ellis, Inc. Blazers 18: Against the Crush on Jan. 31, the Blazers had another good second half, but it was not enough to make up for the first half and the final score had the Crush on top 39-18. Kyle Choy had his best game ever and was top scorer with 6 points, co-top rebounder with eight and had three steals. Ryan Kennedy had an excellent game with six rebounds and five screens. Floor General Graham Ramiza lead the team on offense and brought his best defense to the game. Sharing top rebounding honors was Jojo Ganbayar with eight. Jojo, Max Schmitz and Thomas Nilsson blocked shots for the Blazers Crush showed tremendous offensive keeping the lead the entire game. Pulling together a tough defense grabbing rebounds and steals pushed the upset. Nicky Nguyen and Sam Rawski pulled out 35 of the 39 points, with Chris Weber grabbing rebounds. Vincent Garcia, Wayland Chang and Chris Donovan pushing for the win Kevin R. Kearney, CPA Golden Grizzlies 30 vs. Harbor Bay Realty Speed Demons: The Golden Grizzlies continue to work that word "Team," with an aggressive offense and strong defense on the court. Three players put points on the board, but it took the whole team to make it happen. Jason Ravetti led with 15, followed by Brandon Reed with 13 and AJ Tan-Borromeo with two. Sixth-Grade Boys Harbor Bay Realty Red Hawks 40; Gillmans Gunners 19: The Red Hawks had another great game against the Gilman's Gunners. Jordan lead the score with 13 points three rebounds and one steal. Bryce Duncan had 10 pts, five rebounds and five steals. Jacob Cala added 9 points and two steals. Kai Schniedergers, Joseph Hyun and Ethan Lathon added a couple of points a piece. Alameda Firefighters Bulldogs 33; Tomatina Element 19: After a two-game losing streak the Bulldogs got back onto the winning track with a win over the Elements. Jack Delmore led the way with a team-high 15 rebounds, 8 points, three steals and one block. Javen Johnson had another great game with 15 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Anthony Riley played another intense game with 6 points, two rebounds, six steals and one block. Alex Rickard scored his first 2 points of the season and had two rebounds. Luis Solares had 1 point from a free throw, three rebounds, three steals. Jack Fuller had three rebounds and one steal. The Bulldogs led the whole game and won 33 to 19. Emerald Packaging, Inc. Fiery Cheezeballs 23; Synergy Corporate Housing Cyclones 19: Mark Munoa led the Emerald Packaging Inc. Fiery Cheezeballs to an upset win over the Cyclones 23-21. Munoa led with 8 points and outstanding defense. Sebastian Silva scored 7, and had a game saving steal with seconds remaining. Colin Karch chipped in with 4 points and 10 rebounds, Chad Dali added 4 points, and Daron Cobb and Mica Sanchez also ripped down crucial rebounds. Murphy's Law was in full swing today, as everything that could go wrong for the Cyclones went wrong. Virtually every shot clanked off the iron for the Cyclones, and the Cheezeballs found nothing but net. Seventh-Grade Boys Alameda Police Officers' Association Element 35; Terry R. Pratt, D.D.S. Falcons 32: The Alameda Police Officer Association's team Element made a comeback to win against the Falcons. Rahman Kelly led the scoring with 11 points, and seven rebounds. Cole Schneider put up 8 points and pulled down five rebounds, and Daniel McCormick scored 8 points and had four assists. Ryan Wlad helped the team defensively with a pair of steals and great pressure. Hawaiian Drive Inn Titans 50; Drs. Johnson & Jolly Orthodontics Predators 32: Kalani with 6 points and Caleb with 7, had their best game score to date. Galen and Ben also had 10 points each; 35 team rebounds and great teamwork under the boards helped secure the Titans victory over the Predators.The Titans blew open the game early in the third quarter on their way to a 50-32 victory, but the Predators kept playing hard until the end. Looking at the box score one would not know that Julian Deguzman and Trevor Patrick hustled the entire game making steals and diving for loose balls. Taivale Tautalatasi scored 13 points and Ben Fetzer 10, each player sinking two 3-point shots. Tucker's Super Creamed Ice Cream Icers 53; AdvanceHealth Chiropractic Black Magic 43: Despite a season-high 43 points and their best fourth quarter of the season, the Black Magic were still a little too cold to melt the Icers. More than half of those 43 Black Magic points belonged to Matt Esparza, who scored 24. The leading rebounders, who helped get the ball to Matt, were Kenyon Ebert with nine, Jason Johnson with seven and Sam Wu with six. Alex Rados had two nice driving baskets. Eighth-Grade Boys Terry Pratt, D.D.S.Pop Tarts 25; Drs. Johnson & Jolly Orthdontics. High Octane 24: The Drs. Johnson and Jolley High Octane team and the Pop Tarts played a tight game through to the end. At half-time, the score was tied at 13. Nate Putnam scored a season high 14 points; many of those points attributed to good rebounding. Christian Acena, Khari Marshall and Kelii McKeown also contributed to High Octane's close game with the Pop Tarts. The Pop Tarts won a close one, 25 - 24 |
