California, Nevada, Hawaii Kiwanis Governor Roy Tally recently presented Alameda Kiwanis Club's immediate past president Dawna Dowdell the 2009-2010 Kiwanis Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented to Kiwanians who have demonstrated many hours of excellent service to their local Kiwanis clubs and communities. Dowdell has been an active member of Kiwanis of Alameda since May 1999. She most recently was a member of the successful 11th Annual Alameda Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off and Barbecue Dinner committee and will be co-chairing the May Alameda Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. Dowdell's also volunteers at the Police Department, the Park Street and West Alameda business associations and more. |
