"Engage As You Age" is teaching seniors how to use simple, budget-friendly technology that helps them stay connected to their children and grandchildren. Ben Lewis, the organization's founder, will teach a free one-hour workshop 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10, at Cardinal Point Retirement Community, 2431 Mariner Square Dr. The seminar is open to the public and aims to help people young and old bridge the generational divide caused by rapidly changing technology. "Our clients are always excited when they realize how easy it is to stay in closer contact with their families and friends. Everyone we train to use these technologies is surprised to learn the process is simple to master," said Lewis, who will speak about the history of "nana-technology" or low-cost and user-friendly technologies that help families stay in touch with each other. The seminar will offer practical and useful tips for both seniors and Baby Boomers. Engage As You Age primarily provides personalized social visits to homebound or isolated seniors in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. |
