Esteemed book reviewer, educator, author and storyteller Walter Mayes will be conducting a book-talk at the Alameda Free Library Main Branch 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3.

The Alameda Free Library and Alameda Library Foundation sponsor the event, which will highlight the best new children's books of 2011. Teachers, parents, grandparents and booklovers may attend the talk for free, but the event is only open to adults. RSVP is requested for this event.
