One of the Bay Area's bestknown personalities, Johnny Steele will perform his Standup Comedy Variety Friday, Sept. 9 from 8 to 10 p.m. as part of Rhythmix Cultural Works' monthly comedy night held each second Friday.

Live@theLibrary Returns

Alameda's popular Live@theLibrary concert series returns for its third season on Saturday, Sept. 24 with jazz saxophonist and composer Anton Schwartz. Schwartz will perform with a small group of jazz artists including Grant Levin on piano, John Wiitala on bass and Greg Wyser-Pratte on drums.
