On Tuesday, Jeff Cambra announced his candidacy for city council in this November's election. Cambra has a long history of community involvement, serving on numerous non-profit boards and filming events in the city.

"My extensive business experience as an entrepreneur and legal background make me well qualified to deal with the complex issues the council will face," said Cambra. He is the first to announce he is running for city council.

Two members of the current council will vacate their seats because their terms have expired.

Councilwoman Beverly Johnson will be able to run for reelection, Councilman Doug deHaan will not as he has served two consecutive four-year terms, the maximum the City Charter allows.
