Sun Staff Reports On Friday, July 27, the Alameda Unified School District's (AUSD) board of education approved a $552,000-a-year lease for new district office. The decision came on a 3-2 vote and reflects concerns about seismic safety at Historic Alameda High School, 2200 Central Ave, where AUSD has its offices. The decision means that AUSD will pay Legacy Partners I Alameda LLC,$552,000 a year for six years to lease a 26,720-square-foot space at 2060 Challenger Drive. The lease offers AUSD the option to purchase the Marina Village space for between $5.1 million and $5.5 million by Sept. 30, 2013.
