Are you tired of poor-quality imports and mass-produced department store items? Then here is a perfect opportunity to purchase handcrafted gift items for the upcoming holidays while supporting local artisans. A group of Alameda and East Bay artisans will hold their third annual arts and crafts sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., next Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Harbor Bay Community Center, 3195 Mecartney Road. Items for sale feature one-ofa- kind items that include jewelry, floral designs, food items, dolls, knitted items, soaps, hand-painted bags and shoes. Local authors will have children's books available; all items are sold by the individual artists. |
