Walnut Street Lagoon Wall Up for Discussion

The city will be holding an informational community meeting to discuss the proposed replacement of the lagoon wall at the end of Walnut Street.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 29, in the city hall council chambers, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.

The project includes installing a sheet pile wall to stabilize the land during construction and to allow the contractor to demolish the existing wall. It also includes pouring concrete piers and building a new concrete wall.

The anticipated construction is scheduled to begin mid-June and should be completed by the end of August 2012.

The city hopes to elicit feedback from the public at the meeting.
