Fencing Tournament Saturday

The Pacific Fencing Club will hold its junior demonstration tournament at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Odd Fellow Hall, 2329 Santa Clara Ave. The club invites anyone who has ever had an interest in fencing to come witness the tournament.

Participants must be under 20 years of age, a member or associate of the club and have a license to compete in fencing. Registration closes at 10 a.m., just before the tournament gets underway. The public is invited; tickets are $2 at the door. For more information, call Harold Hayes at 814-1800.

Register for Babe Ruth Baseball Now

Registration nights for Alameda Babe Ruth will be available Monday, Dec. 12 at the Lum Elementary School multi-purpose room, or on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Alameda Boys & Girls Club.

Both sign-up nights will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for players ages 13 to 15 years old as of April 30, 2012. Registration fees vary by age group and category. Assistance packages are available. A $25 late fee will be charged for signs up after Dec. 14.
