Aces at Chuck Corica Stephen Chong had a hole in one on Dec. 20, 2011 on the 11th hole of the Earl Fry Course from 145 yards away using his 7 iron. Two golfers scored holes-in-one on Dec. 27, 2011. Roy Greer made one on the 16th hole on the Jack Clark Course from 149 yards, and Gordon "Jeff" White tallied one on the 11th hole on the Earl Fry Course from 131 yards. Adrienne Lieu made a hole in one on the seventh hole of the Jack Clark Course from 120 yards on Jan. 9. Blatt Captures Top Spot in Women's Golf Alameda Women's Golf Club hosted net tournament play on the Earl Fry Golf Course at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex on Thursday, Jan. 12. The course was dry and fast, allowing long rollers — something seldom seen in winter play. Bev Blatt topped the 40 golfers on the course, shooting a net 65. Stephanie Bellato took home low gross honors with a gross score of 85. Judy Eng's net 68 took firstplace honors among the first-flight golfers, those with handicaps between 9.5 and 18.9. Sia Scates was four strokes back; her net 72 took was all she needed to take the second spot. Bellato's net 73 gave her the third spot among the first flighters. Jenny Hong recorded a net 69. That earned her the top spot among the second-flight golfers, those with handicaps between 20 and 25.8. Kay Park was two strokes back with a net 71 to capture second-place honors. Sherry Westernoff's net 76 earned her the third spot. Bonnie Kim's net 69 was all it took to garner the top spot among the third flighters, golfers with handicaps between 26 and 28.4. Bobbie Hoepner was one stroke back; her net 70 earned her second place. Betty Hatch came in third, recording a net 73. Tournament champ Blatt's net 65 put her on top of the field of fourth-flight golfers, those with handicaps between 30.3 and 40. Kay Choi took second with a net 69. Betsy Gammel's net 71 earned her the third spot. Nora Solmoro took closest-tothe- hole honors on the front nine. Her roller ended its journey just 22' 8" from the pin. Jane Sullwold's ball stopped 26' short, giving her second place. Peggy Miller took third at 40'8". Sullowold's ball stopped a scant 3'5" from the 15th hole. That earned her closest-to-the-hole honors on the back nine. Hong took the second spot at 4'8". Denise Lynch wasn't far behind; her roller stopped just 5'6" away to earn her third place. Only two golfers had chip-ins in the tournament. Park had two: one on the eighth hole and the second on the 12th. Blatt had a chip-in on the 17th hole.
