AGSA Fun Ball Begins Sunday

The Alameda Girls Softball Association (AGSA) is sponsoring fall Fun Ball clinics on Sunday afternoons from Oct. 14 through Nov. 4 at Krusi Park.

Former Cal All-American and current Chabot College coach Chelsea Spencer will lead the clinics, which are for girls ages 5 to 14.

The clinics are free for girls who played on an AGSA team in the spring.

Despite Big Night for Aumua, Hornets Fall to Spartans, 27-24

In front of a packed house in Pinole, the Alameda High Hornets (4-1) lost their first game of the season to the Pinole Valley Spartans 27-24.

The two teams were evenly matched, but Pinole jumped out to an early lead and fended off a late Hornet comeback.

A's Look Forward to Healthier 2008

The Oakland A's frustrating injury-plagued 2007 season is finally over. A's fans who have watched their team finish first or second in the American League West since 1999 settled for a team that came in third this year. Had Oakland lost its last game and Texas won theirs, the A's would have ended the season in the cellar.
