It took 14 years and a lot of frequent flyer miles before Alameda resident Sopiea Mitchell decided to open Sophistry, a retail store for her custom-made skin care products. After earning a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of San Francisco, she worked for five years with biotech company, Chiron. In 2000, she went into business, creating specialty application skin care products for patients of plastic surgeons and aestheticians in several Asian countries. "We take a holistic approach to skin care by customizing our products to each individual customer, Sopeia said."Our goal is to provide the best quality products at an affordable price."
