Response to letter writer

Editor:
In response to Brian Kennedy’s letter (“Council’s wrong decision,” Sept. 28) Kennedy wrote: “Did we elect our City Council to look out for Alamedans or foreign nationals who have entered our country illegally?”

Umm, if you are living in Alameda, that makes you an Alamedan, no matter what your immigration status is, or the color of your skin. I’m sure that all your ancestors moved here legally, and that there is a paper trail to back that up, right?

And that the land you now live on was purchased fair and square from the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe, and there is a properly executed deed to prove that, too?

Oh, good. I thought so.
