Louise Eilhardt won the Alameda Women’s Golf Club net tournament event with a net 68 on Aug. 22 on the Jack Clark Course.
Alameda Junior Golf Club alum Josh McCarthy won the 116th Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) Amateur Match Play Championship after defeating runner-up Toby Briggs, 7-and-5, in the 36-hole finale on Aug. 16. It was the first NCGA title for the Danville native.
Registration for the East Bay Flag Football (EBFF) Alameda Conference fall season is now open to Alameda residents. EBFF is a fun-filled game of 5-on-5 flag football where every player is eligible to receive the ball. There is no contact and no blocking.
The Encinal and Alameda high school football teams will kickoff their 2019 seasons this weekend. Both teams have high expections after stellar seasons last year.

Two Alameda Girls Softball Association Alameda Blaze teams’ summer seasons ended after competing in the All Star West Coast Championships in Sacramento July 26 to 28.
The Alameda Blaze 10-and-under (10U) and 12-and-under (12U) B teams participated in the tournament.
