Encinal advances, Alameda eliminated
After one week of play in the North Coast Section (NCS) playoffs one Alameda high school team is still alive, while the other had its season ended.
Athletes from Alameda and Encinal finished first and second as individuals in the West Alameda County Conference (WACC) league championship women’s varsity meet Nov. 5, at Hayward High.
The Alameda High football team seniors were given a jovial sendoff after winning its regular season finale and presumably final home game on Senior Night 22-20 over Hayward last Friday at Thompson Field.
The Alameda Women’s Golf Club held its Halloween Guest Day event last Thursday, Nov. 3 on the Earl Fry Course.
