City’s longest- running, most famous golf tourney slated
The St. Joseph men’s golf team notched its tenth win of the year last week against Pinole Valley at the Chuck Corica Golf Course. The Pilots put on an overall team performance with three of its five players shooting in the mid-30s.
Sunshine was the forecast for last Thursday’s Alameda Women’s Golf Club’s net tournament event on the Earl Fry Course. The previous week’s event had to be cancelled due to rain.
The event saw 30 golfers participate, but there could be only one winner and that was Stephanie Bellato.
Men’s volleyball is another sport Alameda’s high school students are taking part in this spring.
The 87th Annual Alameda Commuters Golf Tournament will be coming to the Island City at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex on the weekend of April 26 and May 3.
With the spring season in full bloom Alameda high school athletes have made their treks from the basketball courts and soccer fields to the baseball diamonds.
The Alameda Friends of the Park Foundation will be holding the 2014 edition of the Play for the Parks Tournament Monday, Sept. 15 at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex.
