The Encinal Jets football team will be looking for a new head coach after coach Joe Tenorio decided to step down after eight years with the club Thursday, Feb. 13.

Tenorio cited a desire to be an on-campus coach as his reason for leaving the team.

Moody, Hughes, Soo Top Women’s Golf Play

Dot Moody, Diane Hughes and Ruby Soo won a share of the Alameda Women Golf Club’s net tournament event last Thursday, Feb. 20 on the Jack Clark Course.

Moody, Hughes and Soo each shot net 69’s to earn the top distinction. Each of the three winners played in a different flight group.

With the extreme drought conditions taking hold in California, the City of Alameda is doing its part to reach the 20 percent reductions in water use requested by the Governor. All Alameda parks will be watered 20 percent less. This may result in green grass turning brown.
