AMP Launches New Electric Vehicle Rebates, Online Tools

Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) has launched new rebates and a suite of online tools to encourage electric vehicle (EV) ownership. The new incentives are part of an overall initiative to make EVs a more viable choice. Alameda residents can earn up to $1,000 back on the purchase of an all-electric used EV.

For plug-in hybrid EVs, rebates of up to $500 are available. Income-qualified customers enrolled in AMP’s Energy Assistance Program will qualify for an additional $500 for each of these rebates.

AMP is also offering rebates to help lower the purchase price of electric forklifts. Business customers who buy new electric forklifts are now eligible for a rebate up to $2,000.

AMP has also launched new website tools to provide Alamedans with information on choosing, charging and purchasing electric vehicles. A new online calculator shows how much can be saved by switching to an EV. AMP’s website now offers a live model search to help users find the right car based on price and range per charge.

“AMP is excited to offer these new rebates and online tools,” AMP General Manager Nicolas Procos said. “Now that AMP provides a 100 percent clean energy mix, our customers can be confident they are charging their vehicles with clean power.”

AMP funds the rebates using  low-carbon fuel standard funds. Visit www.alamedamp.com to learn more.
