Art Auction Starts Today

Sun Staff Reports

Art and pet lovers can log on now to take part in the first-ever “Paw Prints,” a collaborative fundraiser for the Frank Bette Center for the Arts and Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS).

Starting today and continuing through Sunday, March 14, join the online auction and sale and choose from paintings, drawings, sculptures and more, featuring animals and scenes from Alameda and the East Bay. All of the artwork is from Bay Area artists. The proceeds support both organizations — the life-affirming work of the Frank Bette Center for the Arts, and the life-saving work of FAAS.

As a warm-up for Paw Prints, FAAS and Frank Bette just concluded an Awesome Pet Portraits fundraiser. Alameda artists of all age and experience ranges volunteered their talents to create the art up for auction. Pet owners donated $20 per portrait to support the homeless pets of Alameda
