College to Host ‘Gospel Explosion’


A special concert with the theme of “saving our children through the musical arts” has been scheduled at College of Alameda for Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m. “The Gospel Explosion Concert” will be held in the student lounge at College of Alameda. 
The event will feature Lena Byrd-Miles from Oakland who has received critical acclaim for her soul-stirring and inspirational performances.

The College of Alameda Gospel Ensemble promotes diversity, equity and inclusion through the use of Gospel music to discuss education of diverse student populations within higher education. 

The mission of the event is to send the message to seek a better life, especially for disadvantaged youth and inner-city children. 

The College of Alameda’s, department of music believes that music and other liberal arts subjects and certificate programs, can help develop a desire to learn.
