Local Businesswoman Funds School Film Project

State Farm agent Kelly Lux and her State Farm team donated $500 to Alameda High School (AHS) teacher John Dalton’s Advanced Filmmaking Class.

The students will use the funds to develop a teen safe driving video. The class will then submit into a national contest. Lux presented the check to Dalton and his students in front of Alameda High Saturday, Feb. 19.

Dalton teaches TV Media/Digital Filmmaking 1 & 2 at AHS. The purpose of this course is to enable students with practical and marketable skills in the fields of television media and digital filmmaking.

Students are introduced to the history and creative process of filmmaking and will acquire specific skills in all of the production phases including production planning, camera operating, editing, sound recording, screen writing, directing, lighting, interviewing, reporting, and acting in hands-on situations that will establish the experience of working productively in teams toward project-based goals.

Dalton has taught at AHS since September 2008.

Lux’s State Farm Insurance office is located at 2221 Harbor Bay Parkway.
