Pop-Up Art at Frank Bette Center for the Arts

Frank Bette Center for the Arts is presenting a Pop-Up Art show throughout the month of February.

All the art projects were helmed by Alameda women artists. The show is in the Signature Gallery at Frank Bette’s Center for the Arts at 1601 Paru Ave.

The opening day for the show is Friday, Feb. 4, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. An opening reception for all of Frank Bette Center for the Art is on the second Friday, Feb. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. This evening gives gallery visitors an opportunity to mingle with the artists, to hear about their creative processes and to buy their artwork.

A special Signature Gallery reception during the daytime is on Sunday, Feb. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. This gives patrons another opportunity to meet the artists and view their creative processes. The closing date for the Pop-Up Art show is Feb. 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to provide last-minute art sales and to pick up the art pieces purchased.

Artists featured in the show include Bonnie Randall Boller — Encaustic and Altered Photography; Miriam Infinger — Soft Pastels and Acrylic; Jeanie Moran — Mixed Media ; Thelma Richard — Oil; Susan Haumeder — Encaustic Painting; Karen Lee — Oils on Canvas; and Glenna Mills — Oils on Canvas.

The art pieces express the artist’s perceptions at this time in the media they preferred.

Frank Bette Center for the Arts’ Main and Signature Galleries showcase group and solo shows that present fine arts and crafts. The center also holds instruction in media for beginners to advanced students and scheduled events support of efforts in the arts.
