Virtual Author Webinar at Alameda Free Library

The Alameda Free Library will be hosting a virtual author visit with author/illustrator Nidhi Chanani on Wednesday, March 16, at 4 p.m. on Zoom, and streaming the webinar for public viewers in the Stafford room simultaneously. Learn about Chanani’s path to comics and her creative process for writing and drawing. This virtual visit will include an interactive introduction and reading, a drawing demo and a brief Q&A.

Chanani is an Indian-American freelance illustrator and artist. Her debut graphic novel Pashmina was released by First Second Books in October 2017.

Chanani also runs an online web series and store titled, where she tries to capture the relevance for “ordinary everyday moments in our daily lives.”

In 2012, Chanani was hosted at the White House as one of President Barack Obama’s Champions of Change award recipients, which recognizes ordinary Americans across the country who do extraordinary work in their communities.
