Baseball Tournaments Begin Spring Sports Season
With the dust settled on the spring sports season, in which, the St. Joseph Notre Dame men’s team was crowned a state champion, the attention of the Alameda sports scene has now moved to the diamond.
Hornets Downed in NCS, Qualify for State
The Alameda women’s basketball team was bounced from the North Coast Section Div. II tournament after a 52-45 defeat to Acalanes of Lafayette in the semifinal on last Wednesday, March 2.
The Dons pounced on the Hornets early. Acalanes led 19-8 after the first quarter.
SJND Hoopsters Sweep NCS

The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) men’s basketball team overcame an early deficit to gain a 65-61 victory over University High of San Francisco last Saturday, March 5, to win the North Coast Section (NCS) Div. V crown.

Hornet Football Standout Selected for U.S. Team
Alameda High tight end Alex Denney has been named to the U.S. Under-18 National Team and will compete against Canada in the 2016 International Bowl at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
