Frank Bette Center for the Arts (FBCA) is holding a grand reopening and fundraiser Friday, Sept. 30. The event will include live poetry readings, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar serving wine and beer and a silent auctions of art, gifts and unique experiences.
The City of Alameda is working collaboratively with Alameda Point Collaborative, Operation Dignity and the Social Services Human Resources Board (SSHRB) to develop and implement a plan to prevent increased homeless encampments in the city.
A new social media initiative to promote the city of Alameda begins today at City Hall. “So often we hear people talking about Alameda and all the things that make our Island community unique,” stated the city’s press release.
With the Nov. 8 election date approaching, more information is coming out about Alameda’s most talked about issue. The two rent ordinances that are up for vote at the election appear to have a lot more differences than similarities.
Alameda among 71 entities on list
The city of Alameda was one of 71 cities or public organizations cited by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for failure to disclose to investors all information regarding municipal bond transactions.

The regular meeting of the Public Utilities Board set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, has been canceled. The next regular Public Utilities Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.
